We have to deal with Modems all of the time. Sadly we have to deal with many different kinds of modems, some of which we are familiar with and some of which we are not. Struggling to find the 'best' setup string for a particular application (for us it is usually some kind of tcp/ip dialer thingy) is often problematic at best.
