BY-LAWS
THUNDERBIRD FLEET 1
TACOMA, WASHINGTON
MARCH 1969
1. Name: This is an unincorporated, voluntary, non profit, association known as the Tacoma Thunderbird Fleet (hereafter called "the Fleet").
2. Purpose: To foster building, cruising, and racing the Thunderbird Yacht and the good fellowship incident thereto.
3. Membership: Membership is open to any person who owns or shares ownership in a completed Thunderbird yacht or one under construction.
4. Dues: The retiring Secretary-Treasurer shall include in his report a recommendation on the dues for the ensuing year. Dues shall be fixed by vote at the Annual Meeting. Dues are by yacht, not by person. Dues are not pro-rated.
5. Officers:
a. There shall be a Fleet President, a Vice President, a Secretary-Treasurer and any other appointed position as deemed necessary by the President.
b. Term of office shall be for the nominal calendar year; that is from one Annual Meeting to the next.
c. To the extent practical, a person shall serve in a lower office before being elected to a higher office.
d. It shall be the duty of the new Secretary-Treasurer to promptly notify the International Association of the names and addresses of the new officers for the year.
6. Executive Committee: The officers, together with the immediate past President, shall constitute an Executive Committee. Actions of the Executive Committee shall be reported at the next fleet meeting.
7. Meetings:
a. The Annual Meeting shall be held in January or February, but no later than March 1, on a date fixed by the Executive Committee.
b. There shall be a fall meeting and such other meetings as deemed necessary by the Executive Committee. Informal gatherings shall be held as practical for the promotion of good fellowship.
c. A special meeting shall be called on the petition of three yachts presented in writing to any officer. Notice off such a meeting shall be made at least one week in advance of said meeting.
d. Voting is made by Yacht, one vote for each.
e. A majority of the member yachts is requires for a quorum.
8. Termination of Membership: The termination of member ship comes upon the following occasions.
a. The Executive Committee on the advice of thee Secretary-Treasurer that a person has failed to pay dues, fees or assessment within thirty days of written notice.
b. A majority vote of the yachts represented a regularly called meeting of the Fleet. The vote shall be by secret ballot.
9. Amendments: These by-laws may be amended at any time by majority vote of the yachts represented at a regularly called meeting of the Fleet.
