For fun I: Golf (badly), design and make costumes, read-a lot of different things, and go to Science Fiction conventions.   I am also a Lieutenant Commander on the USS Highlander NCC-1745-A and I did the web page for our odd little Scottish Star Trek group. I hope to have it back up soon.  Recently, several of my co-horts from the Highlander, myself, and a few new people came up with the idea for an new fan group, the Evil Geniuses for a Different Tomorrow.   We have a site up and should get it finished eventually.  I've also been know to go to Medieval ~ Renaissance Faires.  I will confess to being one of the fringe members of the SCA.   Yea verily, do I profess my allegiance to the fine Canton of Wyewood, here in the Barony of Madrone, in the Kingdom of An Tir.  You really need to check out the mascot of Wyewood: Bubba, the Bat Winged Hamster of the Wyewood, here at his unofficial fan-page.  And yes, I have been known to do a little Wenching at such events.   And ever since I received a Cortland fly-rod one Christmas, I added fly-fishing to my list of hobbies.  "Though I'll never tell you where my fishing holes are. <G>

  In addition, I hang out, drink beer, and chase women at the Spar Tavern here in Tacoma.  I'm also known for doing the occasional cocktail at the Lobster Shop, a truly fine restaurant on Ruston Way.

    

     I grew up the son of an Irish Saloon-keeper and spent 23 years working as a cook and bartender.  So I guess you could call my change of careers a sort of retirement.  I've got a lot of years left before I'll be ready to retire from Information Technology, but when I do I've already planned what my next career will be.  My retirement plan is to go to Law School and become an attorney. Now skip the lawyer jokes!   I've heard them all, told most of them too.  In fact, I've already started to learn a little on the internet. I recently discovered what has to be the most humorous legal opinion in history. And yes, it is for real. I also try to keep up on legal news and so I am subscribed to several legal E-mail lists.
